The Stars

Millions of tiny stars spin and shine around me as I float in the void

The Void

So often I feel alone here

So often

Then I see millions of stars crashing around me

First I am sad that they lived such short lives

Then I remember that I live a life so much shorter

I look up at the streetlight
It reflects itself across the rain a million times

And I smile

No life is meaningless

Sometimes it is sad to see the stars flicker

But we are all moving forward

The rain never stops existing

My stars will become part of something bigger than themselves

Because no one is truly alone

We are all spinning in the void while millions of stars dance around us

We are the stars

We are the rain reflecting all we see in our stories and songs

The sky above me lights up as thunder rolls across the darkness

I walk home letting myself float and not feel so alone

Letting myself just be

As millions of tiny stars dance in the darkness with me
